NJ 'S MOST WANTED-- $38

March 28th, 2008 at 04:45 pm

Just got my tax returns from the accountant.

Results: $38.00 owed to the State of NJ

$3,100.00 back from the Feds

The $3,100.00 will be used for my son's college tuition. He chose to attend a community college to save money at least for the first two years. We will be covering books and tuition for those two years.

Your son sounds very fiscally responsible about attending community college. My son is also attending and will transfer to University of MD in the fall. It was a great economical plan for us and him.

    managinglife,

I am so happy he chose to attend a community college. This makes our life much easier. I also attended a community college for the first two years and I actually received a scholarship for being a transfer student from a community college (I paid half of the full tuition and it saved me tons of money).

I hope your accountant told you how to adjust your exemptions to prevent such a huge refund next year. We got over $2,000 back from NJ and my accountant called me yesterday and told me what to change so it doesn't happen again.

    disneysteve,

Sorry for the hijack NJDebbie. Yes, our accountant explained to us about reducing our personal exemptions and increasing my 401K to 15%. I hope 2008 is a the year we beat AMT!

Ohh, could you send me the recipe for Red Lobster cheddar biscuits. I LOVE those things!

  6. NJDebbie Says:

    Fern,

I will! I have to dig through my pile of papers. I'll get it to you sometime this week. Smile
