December 14th, 2008 at 10:49 am

This has been an expensive month, but I'm not stressing about it. Our rental property needed all of the windows replaced at a tune of $3900.00. I just got finished paying for my son's Spring tuition, $1575 (14 credits). I gladly pay for that, it would've been 10 times that for a 4 year college or university. I expect Christmas gifts to cost us about $600.00 (a lot less than previous years). But you know there is a positive side to this...we did not add any debts to our lives. All of it will be paid at the end of the month from our savings and monthly income. It really feels good to have a little money to solve life's expected and unexpected expenses.

By the end of January I should have enough reward money form my Amazon Visa to buy the digital camera I want. I get $25.00 for every $2500. I charge the heating bill to the visa every month ($349) and my son's tuition and books(I get double the points for charges related to school)I have $100 worth of rewards and I should be able to have 2 $25 reward certificates by January. And guess what I've never carried a balance. Smile

We took the jar with loose change to the bank yesterday and surprisingly there was $82. We split the amount between the two kids and put an extra $25 in each account. I really want to make an effort to put some money away for them. My oldest son puts a significant amount away from his part-time job every month and my youngest contributes half of his birthday money and miscellaneous money to his acccount.

Have a blessed week!
