Any crafty bloggers out there?

I would like to create a shadow box for each of my children's baptismal gowns. They are currently in bags and I would like to display them for now and give it to them when they have children or leave the nest. Does anyone know how to create a shadow box? I don't even know where to start.

My only concern with this would be if you plan on having your future grandchildren wear the gowns. I don't know if mounting them would keep the integrity of the fabric intact. Your best bet might be to contact a custom framing place to discuss your options. You could then see if those ideas translate into something you could re-create. I'm sure that Michael's would have suitable shadow boxes and you can use the 40% off coupons. Good luck!

I would definitely go with someplace like Michael's rather than do it your self. You want to preserve and display!

HOw about vacuum sealing the gowns but creating a shadow box with the candle, baptismal bib, shoes, etc. God bless.

I don't think that the gowns can be used by future gradchildren because they are a bit dingy. I just want them to have it as a remembrance.

Trying hard not to be a slave to the lenders.

Teaching my sons to be fiscally responsible by example.
