I'm e-filing tonight. We're getting $3700 from the feds and paying the state of New Jersey $250. I know some may argue that we should adjust our deductions and not give the government an interest-free loan. I can see their point, but to be honest I like getting a refund. This money helps us make some sort of repair to our house without pulling a lot of money from savings.

This spring or summer, we're planning on removing the in-ground oil tank. It'll cost us between $3500-$4200 to remove the old one and install an above-ground tank. Right now were spending a lot of money insuring the tank for leaks and to top it off, we're not able to shop around for better oil prices because the insurance is done through the oil company.
