Another licensed driver

May 12th, 2011 at 05:34 pm

DS#2 passed his road test so we have another New Jersey licensed driver in the house. I'll remind him about the one occupant (other than family) rule, watching his speed, no tailgating, etc. In the state of NJ under Kyleigh's Law, drivers on a provisional license have to have a red sticker on both license plates. Cops can easily identify teenagers breaking 12 midnight driving curfew with these stickers.

This is how the plate looks with the sticker

I sent (electronically) another $200 to the mortgage principal, down -$8,857.59 of the $15K goal for 2011. I'm $19.00 under budget for the electricity and triple play (cable, internet and phone)categories which means that I'll send this surplus to principal soon.

As of Monday, I only have 5 weeks of work and as of May 31st, my salary increase will take place. I estimated that for the last 2 paychecks of the 2010-2011 school year, I will have an extra $1200. Woohoo!! I will use that money to pay for my DS#2 Lacrosse league (fees, hotel stay, gas etc.)

This weekend will be the same as the last one; lots of Holy Communion parties to attend. Two last week and one Sunday. I don't mind though, I love seeing the kids in their Communion dresses and suits.

Well this is my weekly update and I hope you all have a great weekend.

As a fellow New Jerseyan, good luck with your son. I hope your auto insurance doesn't go up too much...

I was thinking the same thing... insurance rates rarely stay low with a teenage (male) driver, but sometimes safety courses and other things can lead to a break in policy rates. Good luck!

I know I will be paying an arm and a leg!
