is the amount that would get us to be one whole year ahead of schedule on our mortgage amortization table. By January 1st we will have 13 years left on our mortgage instead of 14 on our 15 year mortgage. I'm super excited about this. Although I will not meet my super ambitious $30k principal goal, I still think that we did well considering we are paying for our son's college tuition cash every semester.

Christmas shopping:

My goal for this pay period is to buy 2 Christmas presents. I'm buying one of those presents using the money I've earned through swagbucks and amazon cc rewards.

Cable, land line and internet (bundle):

Hubby called our provider to tell them that we were looking into switching companies if we did not get a better deal. Customer service lowered our bill from $148 to $115 a month for a year.

Our son:

My DS #2 has been doing some odd jobs for our neighbor to fuel his car when necessary. The other day, I guess he found himself with quite a bit of cash in his wallet. On Tuesday, he left me $40 on the counter and asked me if I could deposit the money in his savings account. I must say that this was a very proud moment for me. All the pep talks about saving money for a rainy day is paying off. He's also alternating weeks with a friend to make the trip to the gym. They both felt that it was a waste of gas to take two cars.

Very busy weekend coming up. I hope you have an enjoyable weekend.

Nice job on the bundle! My DH needs to get on the stick and call about ours. We had a deal until July and the bill has now gone up.

Your son sounds like a smart cookie! Don't you just love those proud "mom" moments?

    Enjoy your weekend Smile

Looks like you have taught your son well...congrats!

You have done a nice job in teaching your son these concepts, which are mostly learned from examples. That is what leads to understanding and implementing them. I would imagine that you will have some insurance that he will continue in these kinds of decisions, and how cool is it that he has his friend involved in saving gas money!? Smile Jerry
