What to do?

September 29th, 2014 at 05:03 am

I have to admit I have reached the point that I will have to start planning for a second career. I definitely feel like a career in public school education will not do the trick for me long-term. Don't get me wrong, I still put forth a good effort to reach my students and earn my salary honestly, but between endless and simply useless paperwork, unreasonable deadlines and student apathy, I am feeling burnt out.

I was thinking of trying to open up my own business where I can use my bilingual skills. Any ideas?

A little update

Life has been very stressful lately with the sale of our home and the new purchase. Inspections are done, still waiting to see the report for our current home. We are removing an in-ground oil tank and installing an above ground tank to the tune of $3K and fixing a small water seepage in the basement and fixing a few boards on the front porch for $800. I hope and pray that the removal of the tank goes well. We did get full asking price for our home. We are purchasing the new home $8k less than the asking price and the owner gave the okay that they will fix four major things in the inspection report. I was relieved to hear that; we love the house and suspect that we will spend the rest of our days there, God willingly. Now waiting to get it writing.

Cautiously excited

I's been a couple of week but some exciting but yet nerve wrecking events have happened. So remember how we had the house on the market for a couple of weeks but we got cold feet and withdrew the listing? Well, that was in early June. We were scheduled to see a listing last Sunday but the day before hubby and I decided to stop by to see outside of the property. We loved it, so I text the realtor and told her that we were at the house and that we loved it. She offer to come by and open the house for us to see it. Long story short we put an offer that Saturday, offer was accepted after one counter offer and by Wednesday we were under contract. Our home is under attorney review also (full asking price)SmileI am cautiously excited. We are removing the oil tank and fixing a small water seepage in the basement for the buyers. We will see what both home inspections reveal. We are ready to rent our home if need be but we would much rather sell it and put it behind us. It helps that we do not have a mortgage and can afford to carry the other mortgage comfortably if necessary.

About our future home, an old orchard farmhouse with modern upgrades on an acre of property. The kitchen will have to be redone eventually and bathrooms upgraded but nothing that has to be done right away.

I will keep you posted!!!
