Don't know what my title should be

September 23rd, 2015 at 04:06 pm

I woke up with a nasty barometric migraine headache. I can tell when it is from the barometric pressure because it is a distinct headache. Only a good night sleep will help.

Anyway, I am very frustrated with my lack of organization lately. It's not about my house; it is clean and organized for the most part. It's about groceries. You know when you begin preparing something and realize that you don't have a certain ingredient you need. It's happened to me a few times this week. I usually do an inventory every Sunday but somehow I haven't lately. Need to get on the ball about this to save myself from aggravation.

On another note, I was supposed to have an teaching observation today but the administrator forgot about it. When I met with him for a pre-observation meeting I asked him if he wanted me to remind him via email. He said, "NO". "I am trying to get better." (his exact words) Well, towards the end of the period he calls and apologizes for his no show. I'm sorry but this is super unprofessional. It doesn't matter how long one has been teaching, observations are nerve wrecking. God forbid I was not on top of my game, I'd be shred to pieces. In my opinion, tax payers pay some administrators way too much money. I also dealt with a very nasty (behavioral) kid today.

Sorry about the rant, I have not been my best lately. I hope I can get out of this funk soon Frown

My sister is a teacher, so I know a bit about that experience. Yes, VERY unprofessional. Sorry about your run in with the child, too. May you feel better soon.

Would it help just to check all your ingredients for the rest of the week and make sure you have what you need? Then only one trip to fill in may be needed.

I am curious what is the difference between the barometric and other migraines? I ask because I have recently had two nasty migraines that felt totally different from 'normal' ones....

I've been so bad about missing ingredients lately I've forced myself to pull everything from the pantry/fridge/freezer before starting anything! I've always had to set the specific bake/casserole/pan on the stove because too often it's in the deepfreeze holding something flash frozen but not yet bagged/packaged for longer term protection.

Would you find it helpful to print-off one of those substitution pages from internet to tape inside a cupboard door?

How incredibly unprofessional of your administrator to miss his observation meeting, Have other colleagues commented on missed meetings? I'd note it on my calendar and mention your 'disappointment' in your end of year comments to your department head. Unfortunately, the hierarchy is such that there is no way to hold poor performing administrator's feet to the fire. Parents hold the power and they have no idea of the stupid decisions sometimes made.

Thrifty Ray, I can tell the difference because of the sinus pressure I feel and the onset is right after I wake up in the morning.
