I'd been thinking (maybe a little too much lately)about establishing a car fund. I drive a 2001 Suzuki GV XL7 that has not hit the 50,000 miles yet. We plan to keep this car 'till it dies. The SUV looks great and thus far in great shape (my husband is a car buff and takes great care of it). Thinking ahead, I'd like to start putting money away so that we can pay cash for a new car when the time comes. We have a truck loan now at 0% interest for 7 years and even though we pay no interest, I really hate making the $394.00 a month payment. Do you think this is a good plan?

I earn $30 last Friday and $30 today doing home instruction. Friday's session is in limbo until the board of ed. approves an extension for this particular student. It's amazing how much they learn when you are giving one on one attention. I'd been really good at packing my lunches and eating breakfast at home. No stops to fast food joints on my way home either. Another positive is that I am half way through on my summer fund goal. See my side bar. I've decided that if at one point before June 30th I meet the goal, I will continue contributing to this fund. I think it will enable us to repair the deck or replace the kitchen counter with granite.
On another note, its been very cold in my neck of the woods. I thank God I have my electric blanket to keep me warm.
Blessings to all and good night!
I would like to create a shadow box for each of my children's baptismal gowns. They are currently in bags and I would like to display them for now and give it to them when they have children or leave the nest. Does anyone know how to create a shadow box? I don't even know where to start.
We spent a lot of money today; not on wants but on necessities. My son needed new jeans (he is outgrowing a lot of his clothes) and we had to replace a bad kitchen faucet. We did the work ourselves.
On the other hand, we finally rented our 1 bedroom apartment today. I'm very happy about that. Our rental home is paid for and we net about $11,000 a year on the rentals after paying property taxes, utilities and homeowners insurance.
No work for me tomorrow! I made $30 for 1 hour of home instruction Thursday. If everything works out, I'll do 2 hours of instruction this week.
Happy blogging, I love reading all your blogs.
I'm trying to save as much as I can so I've found a way to save money on my electric bill by not using my dryer as much. My husband and I wash clothes and hang them in clothes racks to dry overnight and during the day while we work. When I come from work I take them off the rack and fold them. I dry towels and sheets in the dryer.
Here is a picture of the load I dried in the clothes rack last night. My husband did a load prior to this one.
I'm trying to make extra cash every month. My goal is $250.00. I figured that if I can cover a class (act as a substitute teacher) during my prep periods twice a week + the home instruction I'm already doing ( 1 hour a week at $30) I can probably accomplish my goal. This week so far I've covered no classes, bummer! Wish me luck. I'll post my extra earnings monthly.
Have a great evening, fellow-bloggers!
