Every little counts

July 12th, 2010 at 10:15 am

My son (youngest) gave me $40 to deposit in his bank account today and I while there I used their coin machine. To my surprise the small amount of coins yield $33.05. I cashed the coin voucher and left the .05 in the bucket and put the $33 in an envelope. I will put that money towards the principal of our mortgage. I'm still crossing my fingers about only using $8K of the $10k allotted for the summer expenses. Anything left over from the summer fund will be applied to the principal of the mortgage. I've not transferred any summer money yet to the checking account. Smile
I'm reading Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. I'm reading book #1, which I borrowed from the library. My niece offered to let me borrow books #2,3 and 4. I want to read all of the books by September 1st (my first day at work for the new school year).

Those books sure can lure you in! Nice job on the coins cashed in.

I read the twilight books prior to allowing dd to read them. They are very addictive.

I just added an additional $44 to a recurring principal payment (rounded up to the next hundred dollars). I figure it would get spent on something not as important as getting out of a 30 year early! Great minds think alike! Most people would not think it's enough to make a difference, but every little bit helps.
