Some success in the kitchen and other stuff

September 3rd, 2010 at 05:51 pm

I took advantage of having the day off today to make a few batches of buckhorn dinner rolls. I also had to change the menu for today because my son begged me to make him spagetti with meatballs (along with dinner rolls and corn). I was so excited that the corn was crispy and delicious. I blanched the sweet corn kernels a week ago and I'm glad I can continue to this with vegetables that otherwise would've end up in the garbage. Less waste, more money in my pocket.

Tomorrow I'll be in NY City for the musical and Sunday at the wax museum and M&M store. Pretty soon the balance of my account at Amazon.com will be $205. I ordered a $25 gift certificate using the reward points from my amazon credit card and I'm also waiting on a $5 amazon gift card from swagbucks. /

I returned to work Wednesday and Thursday for professional development and Tuesday after Labor Day is the official opening day of the school year. We were informed that we will now have the option to get paid 12 months of the year or continue with 10 months. I think I'll just pass this year, since I worked so hard this summer on twicking our household budget. I requested to have my checks on direct deposit.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Nice job with the amazon.com credits!! I'm close to earning one, and unfortunately I already spent the last one I earned.
