Home > No CC

November 22nd, 2010 at 10:51 am

I've realized that we tend to overuse our credit cards. This month we paid close to $1300 for October purchases. Yes, we do pay at the end of the month, but we seem to rationalize that we'll have some time to come up with the money. From this point forward, we'll use our debit card to make purchases. I'll keep you posted.

    Great strategy !

I don't have a CC any longer and use my Visa Debit instead when can't use cash.

We made the transition (from credit to debit to cash), and while it wasn't always the most convenient (like going into the gas station to pay for gas), it has certainly made us far more aware of where the little leaks were. We've made leaps and bounds in personal accountability and more conscientious decisions. I'm saving $1.50 a day AND both DH and I are going out more with our friends ($6 for a pint of Guinness for him, or $11 to Egg Harbor for me) and it isn't a big deal. Plus we're having more money to donate to causes that come up.

Any word on DH's job yet?

Nothing yet on my hubby's job. He did find his keys though!
