Feeling sad (not $$ related)

May 14th, 2011 at 09:53 am

I never thought I would feel this way. My boys almost 21 and 17 years old are becoming more independent each day. DS#1 in a matter of a year will be done with college and leaving the nest. DS#2 just got his driver's license and is very busy with sports and a very pretty girl. I have to admit that when I saw him drove off to a LAX game this morning, I cried. I know that my sons are not mine to keep and I like to think that I've taught them well for they are fabulous human beings. As for me... I'm feeling very lonely and I wish they were little again. Frown

My circumstances might be a bit different, but I know the feeling. Today I am five days away from the anniversary of my miscarriage. Very difficult. The heart is heavy and my arms feel empty. Despite my very full house of five blessins and a wonderful husband I am feeling lonely. Frown

((HUGS)) back to you. I can understand your pain. I think I'm also very melancholic because because my Dad passed away almost a year ago and I miss him like crazy.

It is bittersweet watching those littles grow up and away.

I know how you feel. My oldest is 19 1/2 and almost done with her first year of college. DD2 is almost 16 and only has 2 years left of high school. I work with several people who have young children and 2 that are pregnant and sometimes I just wish to go back in time. It has gone so fast....hugs....

We all have these times of sadness and loneliness. Life goes so fast and you just want to slow it down and savor it. There is hope beyond the empty nest, though. Grandchildren! So much joy to come for you.

I can't imagine, but I see our parents re-living it all with the grandkids. & they gush on and on how it is so much better than raising kids (even MIL who lived for it). So you have that to look forward to. Maybe?

Thank you all for your kind words! I'm feeling better today and I looking forward to grandchildren, but hopefully not anytime soon. Smile
