Swagbucks TV and 2011 mortgage update

November 23rd, 2011 at 01:34 pm

As some of you may already know, I received a Barnes and Nobles NOOK (an e-reader) for my birthday in August. I can honestly say that this is the best present ever. I have downloaded about four books since I got it, but I decided that I would find another way to purchase these electronic books. I've been winning digital money through swagbucks for quite sometime now. I can get a $5 Barnes and Noble gift cards each time I earn 625 swagbucks. I wish they were easier to earn, like the Amazon gift card (only 450 swagbucks). There is a book I have in my wishlist and pretty much would like it to be the next book I read. I decided that I would buy it only if I have enough swagbucks to cover the entire amount. I am currently raking swagbucks by using their Swagbucks TV feature, which for a limited time, you can earn up to 150 swagbucks a day. I've already have enough for a $5 B&N gift cards and pretty close to earning a second one. I can't wait!

The total mortgage principal payment for this year is:$24,261.40. I don't think I'll be making any more extra payments this year because I have other financial obligations that need to be covered. All in all, I'm proud of myself. This amount represents a shorter mortgage life of one year.

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!

I am going to have to look into Swagbucks myself. I too have a Nook Color and would love to find a way to earn some gift certificates.

Great job on the mortgage too Smile

    Good job on the mortgage!

I am amazed how many books I read this year, since buying my nook. Maybe 10, in addition to 5000 pages or so for Game of Thrones. I was just thinking it was the convenience factor. It's frankly not that inconvenient to reserve a paper book at our library, but I am apparently 1000 times more likely to check out books if I can just do it all from my computer! I am considering buying an ebook series though because I am tired of waiting for them one at a time at the library - I have a $50 B&N gift card from credit card rewards, of course!

Way to go on earning points Smile

Can you convert the Amazon ebooks to read on the Nook?

  6. NJDebbie Says:

As far as I know, Amazon does not allow you to do that. There might be a way around that but I'm not that technologically savvy. I know that you can download library books to your NOOK and one can share books with friends, also with the NOOK.

150 points per video or maximum per day? I just earned three points, but watched about 10 videos to get those points.

  8. NJDebbie Says:

a maximum of 150 per day. It's three swagbucks for every 10 you watch. I wish it was 150 per video! Smile

Okay...thanks for the reply. It sure takes awhile to rack up points there!
