The storm really did a number on our town and we are not expected to get our power back for another 7-10 days. The Jersey shore sustained damages that are truly shocking. Hope everyone is well. I'll post whenever we get a chance.

Somehow my hubby convinced the Cable guy to put some sort of back up battery to the modem and I'm able to connect to the internet. NO POWER, the fence is completely blown out and the trees are scaring the living heck out of me. On the bright side, thank God the temperatures are high enough that there is no need for heat. Not that it matters, No power, No heat for us.
PS: The Jersey Shore is completely destroyed. It most of been a man who pissed Sandy off!
On Thursday, I purchased tickets to go see Jersey Boys on Broadway. I'm lucky to have a group of close girlfriends who enjoy these shows as much as I do. We are going the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I'm so excited.
Leo, our new puppy is doing great. He is so playful and just so awesome. We are also waiting for Sandy to hit New Jersey soon. Work was cancelled for Monday and Tuesday. I did the laundry, cleaned the house and continue to wash dishes right away just in case we lose power, which will most likely happen. Our neighbor is on an oxygen tank and a friend of my son, who is volunteer firefighter, said that the power company would have restore the power on our street first. We are also close to the school and that it's definitely a priority for the town. I hear its a monster storm!
Well I hope you all have a great week!
We could not stand another day without a fur baby in the house so last night we got this beautiful Lhasa Apso we named Leo. He was born August 4th and under the astrological horoscope he would fall under Leo (not that I believe in horoscopes). We also thought fits his personality. Now we are on to training to go potty outside and on to puppy treats, toys, etc. We are so happy!
P.S. My beautiful Max was Lhasa Apso and Poodle mix and we still miss him very much.
On July of this year, I/we was/were able to meet one of the 2012 financial milestone six months ahead of schedule. I needed to set another financial milestone goal to keep me focus. So I thought that maybe we would be able to "get under the $150K total debt" (house and all)and today we did. As of today, our total debt is $142,032.00. I'm so excited!
Today, I also decided to close the books on the month of October. We paid $17,481.27 extra on the mortgage principal. We used part of our savings to make this astronomic mortgage principal payment. We are down to $110,409.00 from $243,500.00 twenty-two months ago. We are hoping to be debt free in another two years. (crossing my fingers). Total debt includes mortgage and car loans.
P.S. I'll have to change the ticker on my tool bar!
Since my last financial update, we have made extra mortgage principal payments totaling $1,309.06 and an extra payment to the car loan. Next month will be rather expensive because property taxes for both houses as well as Max's vet bill will come due then. I'm still fighting the loss of my dog and have been on a funk lately. I'd been eating more, feel sad and irritable most of the time. My neighbor says that I should not feel guilty because it has only been a little while. I'm trying hard to snap out of it and I'm certain eventually I will.
I took my niece pumpkin/apple picking today and I really enjoyed watching her pick her own little pumpkins and apples. The apples are to die for; tasty and aromatic. I also bought a jar of strawberry and raspberry preserves. Total cost at the farm was $27.00. Today, when I got home I stumbled upon my favorite picture of Max and I thought I'd share it with you. Amidst my sadness, I felt blessed that my fruit and vegetable bowl is full of goodies (apples, bananas, avocados and the final collection of green tomatoes from my plants.
Max (life was so hard) :: ::
Grateful for this bounty!
