Day 6...

November 3rd, 2012 at 09:02 pm

with no power. The house became unbareable to stay. I crashed at my friends house today. To say that I'm frustrated is an understatement, but I realize that there are people worst off than us. My town is a ghost town and the governor just passed the gasoline ordinance for odd and even numbers (last number on your license plate with even or add day of the week) which I think is a great idea. The lines to get gas were miles long. Work will resume Monday but we are not expected to have power until Wednesday. Halloween was postponed until Monday. Halloween has been cancelled two years in a row. We are definitely buying a generator as soon as this mess is over.

Well, I wish you all a great week. I'll keep you posted.

Understandably, you are at your wits end. It is a very stressful time. You are safe and you will get through this. I'm so glad you have friends to help you. Sending prayers and best wishes things will get better each day.

(((hugs))) How frustrating....glad you were able to be at your friend's.

I can only imagine how much work you'll get done with no power for two days Smile Are the students coming back on Monday as well?? - oh my, if it is!

Best wishes on getting everything back to normal!

I'm so glad that you are OK! I have friends who are policemen in some of the flooded areas, and they have been telling me about the most ridiculous people trying to cheat the even-odd system to get gas. The governor made a good faith effort to institute some insurance of shortening the lines, and it doesn't help when people are completely dishonest and try to cheat. It really does lead me to wonder about people, and how things would get if there was an even worse disaster, heaven forbid. Hang in there, I hope that things are normalized soon!
