Awful pizza and a little more

April 23rd, 2014 at 08:42 am

I think I'm a pretty good judge of good pizza and I gotta say that Papa John pizza is just so awful. I will never buy it again. Expensive and yucky.

I'm excited that we now have a little over $2K in our Anniversary Party Fund with a almost a whole year to save more. Our 25th Wedding Anniversary is on February, but I don't want to deal with bad wintery weather, so I decided to do it in the Spring.

I redeemed $530 in travel credit card rewards and used it towards the car rental on our recent vacation. After cc rewards, the total out-of-pocket expense was $174. Not too shabby! May is usually a tough month for us financially. We have the 4th quarter property taxes due ($2,200)and homeowner's insurance premium payment.

We are thinking Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, for our next vacation in an all inclusive resort and free airfare (read about it in my previous post). Has any one ever visit Punta Cana?

My boss went last fall to an all inclusive in Punta Cana. I can't remember the name but will see if I can ask her.

Her experience was mixed: very few of the staff spoke English and the resort catered to a lot of Europeans so they felt a little out of place the first couple of days. She said it is not a place they felt a need or desire to return to.

A caveat: she speaks no foreign languages, has never really traveled abroad except to Jamaica or USVI. YMMV

    I agree about Papa John's.

I just returned from Punta Cana a couple of weeks ago. (Tough business trip...) It was fabulous - April is very warm there! We did stay in an all-inclusive resort.
