for the upcoming holiday season as of today. I will pick up the turkey at Aldis on my way home from work. It is the most inexpensive place to buy it at $1.19 a pound. I'm getting a big bird even though it's just the four of us and my sister. I'll use the remaining meat for soups, sandwiches and other meals. I will make a quick stop at Applebee's to buy the first of two gift cards for DS#2 (Christmas present). I don't feel comfortable buying just one gift card with a big amount of money since my DS is notorious for losing things. He is always there for half price apps after 10:00 p.m.

I am hoping to go to the movie theater with my hubby to see the movie, "The 33". This is the movie about the Chilean miners who were trapped in a mine for over a month or close to a month and all survived. Antonio Banderas is starring in the movie and I really like him. I have a gift card that should cover the movie tickets and our snacks.

Ooohh, that movie sounds really good. I'll have to see if it is playing here. Or maybe out in CA while I'm there. Smile

My brother, who is our Thanksgiving chef, says he is not getting a turkey this year, so the dinner may be a bit of a surprise.

I have bought whole turkeys in the past, even though I live alone, because the price is good at this time of year. But I think not this year. It was a lot of work processing all that meat, and I got tired of it!
