Highest: Our mortgage (including property taxes and homeowner insurance of about $796 per month) is $3,101.94. Part of that is we had an escrow shortage, so it should go down slightly in about a year. $1,100 of it is covered by our downstairs neighbors' rent payment but even if we said the bill was $2,001.94 it would be our highest household bill.

Lowest: Our gas bill got to its lowest point this past month: $16.65. In the dead of winter it can get as high as $192.52, so that's not a fixed low bill. It's usually lower than our electricity and water/sewer/trash bills, but occasionally higher than those.

I wish my water bill was that low! Your questions lead me to look at the averages for bills thus far this year. I am using averages because three bills are only paid every other month.

mortgage: $1680 (I am in the process of refinancing and new payment is $1447. After one year of saving the difference into an emergency fund I will make the original mortgage payment to pay off house faster.)

    water: 38.55
    sewer: 59.65
    garbage: 20.36
    electric: 61.52
    house gas: 38.79

Rent: $1800. Ooma home phone: $4.53.

  4. monkeymama Says:

    Health Insurance: $1,000
Natural Gas: $20 (average per month)

  5. SecretarySaving Says:

    Gas $21
    Mortgage $830

If Netflix counts as a household bill then that is $10 Smile

P.S. Yeah, I guess it depends on definition of "household bill". I debated this a little on the low end but didn't think about it at all on the high end. If insurance doesn't count, then mortgage would be our highest bill ($900).
