Central Air

July 5th, 2018 at 07:34 pm

There is only one thing I miss from our previous home: Central Air Conditioning. We've been at our "new" home for nearly four years and we've been talking about installing central air. This summer, so far has been unbearable. Our upstairs floor is a literally a sauna. We have fans going and my son has a window unit in his room but I hate those things. I think we are finally pulling the plug and getting estimates on the cost of installation. We are toying with the idea of getting a ductless system but we have not decided yet. I just hope that it doesn't cost more than $10K as we are paying cash for the system. I will keep you posted.

everyone I know that has installed a ductless system (from Mitsubishi or Fujitsu) has loved them. For 4 zones the cost here in Northern California is about $10,000.

Hope you can get it installed for what you have saved. I remember growing up without air conditioning. Then we had a couple of window units, but only used them when it was so hot we couldn't stand it because it cost extra money to run them. When I married and the house had central air, it was like heaven. We still use ceiling fans, but it sure helps with my allergies, and asthma to have central air.

Life without AC is rough. Hope you get it figured out at the best cost soon!
